Personal:

I retired from the Army after 26 years of service in 2010.  I moved home to Arizona.  My wife and I are empty nesters.  In 2016 I had stents placed in my heart after discovering coronary artery disease.  Since early 2016 I have lost 30 lbs and got in much better shape.  August 2017 I retired again and we are going on a mission to Mexico in OCtober 2017.

total running time 45:28.  after 1 mile warm-up I did a tempo run at 6.7 mph for three miles... then I did a quarter mile at 8mph pace then I cooled down starting at 6mph and going up by 0.1 every 30 seconds...the last half mile was at 6.5 mph.  splits 9:41, 8:58, 8:57, 8:57, 1:53 (last mile 8:55).

total time 38:20.  outside.  antsy to run outside but the temp was 79 with 50% humidity.  I tried to push the 3rd mile.  then was kind of dead.  splits 9:25, 9:30, 8:45, 10:40.

my back started bugging me last night.  I almost didn't run.  I iced it ebfore running and then had to start out really slow.  firt half mile was around 5:40.  I then gradually sped up although the ehat and humidity also limited me.  total time29:56.  splits 10:23, 9:54, 9:39
