Personal:

I retired from the Army after 26 years of service in 2010.  I moved home to Arizona.  My wife and I are empty nesters.  In 2016 I had stents placed in my heart after discovering coronary artery disease.  Since early 2016 I have lost 30 lbs and got in much better shape.  August 2017 I retired again and we are going on a mission to Mexico in OCtober 2017.

5 x 1000 meters with 1 minute in between.  4:38, 4:40, 4:38, 4:37, 4:35.

this is the best lactate threshold workout I ahve ahd in quite some time.  I have not been doing pushups and situps because I am having muscle spasms in my neck and upper back.  can't get them to go away.

out in 22:47 back in 18:55. neck and back still bugging me but did 20 pushups and 30 back extenders regardless.

average heart rate 146.  back still bugging me so no pushups and crunches.

total running time 67:45.  added SV trail on to my usual long route.  Ran SV trail in 17:40 (1st mile in 7:41 and second in 9:59- seoncd mile has almost 1/2 mile hill which is quite steep).
