Personal:

I retired from the Army after 26 years of service in 2010.  I moved home to Arizona.  My wife and I are empty nesters.  In 2016 I had stents placed in my heart after discovering coronary artery disease.  Since early 2016 I have lost 30 lbs and got in much better shape.  August 2017 I retired again. We served a mission to Mexico from October 2017 until April 2019.

total time 68:51.  plan was 2 minutes uptempo every 10 minutes.  did this.  tried not to go all out.  Most of the timew as between 8:15 and 8:30 pace.  splits 9:37, 9:00, 9:02, 9:04, 9:08, 9:09, 9:13, 4:39.

total time 1:50:01.  plan was to do up-tempo half miles at 2.5, 5.5, and 8.5 miles- goal 4:20 for up-tempo and 9:20 the rest).  Wasn't sure what I was going to do the last 3 mile segment but ended up doing a fourth up-tempo half mile.  I am fairly pleased with my progess since we got home from our mission.  splits 9:29, 9:16, 4:36, 4:18, 9:15, 9:12, 4:37, 4:23, 9:16, 9:11, 4:35, 4:16, 9:17, 9:16, 4:41, 4:24.
